DEVELOP in addition to community use, we are exploring a vital and increasingly urgent issue: the shortage of workforce housing in our area. Workforce Housing is a segment of the overall housing issue, where we’ve heard directly from our local:
• healthcare,
• schools,
• first responders,
• government agencies,
• public services and nonprofits
all united in voicing their difficulty in hiring and retaining critical staff due to the lack of affordable housing in this, the community, where these essential employees work.
Our vision is to preserve and strengthen our historic relevance by evolving purpose-driven social enterprise offerings at this New Visions Community campus. All aligned to enrich Port Townsend through collaboration, inclusion, and practical solutions.
